Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope you all are enjoying the holidays. Here's a little glimpse at ours. Liam learned to crawl forward on the 23rd, just in time to get into all the Christmas stuff, lol. He also learned how to pull himself up to stand in his crib, so we had to lower it. It's harder to get him to go back to sleep at night now, you go in and he's bouncing up and down, excited to see you, but it's also pretty funny. As you can probably tell, he kept us busy this Christmas. Celebrating his first Christmas was a lot of fun, he got a little overwhelmed by all the new things but after his nap, he was ready to go again. We woke up, opened stockings and presents, had breakfast and then relaxed a little bit while Liam took a nap. After he woke up, we got ready and went to a friend's house for Christmas dinner. They had invited some other friends (I think there were 12 of us in all) and 2 babies, and a few other kids so it was a little chaotic but fun. One of the couples was Indian and brought a few Indian side dishes to add a little culture to our Christmas. After dinner we did a white elephant gift exchange and then came home. And that was pretty much our Christmas. Liam got lots of fun new things but of course so far he's had the most fun with the boxes and bows. Here are some pictures.

'Tis his first holiday season!

This will be Liam's first Christmas and that makes it lots of fun. But all his first (and seconds, and thirds, etc) are fun. Lately we've had a lot of those. He got his first Christmas pictures done. We sent out our first family Christmas cards. The first time he "helped" decorate the Christmas tree (tried to eat the ornaments and even the tree!). His first picture with Santa. He tried cheerios for the first time (he loves them! and anything he can eat by himself--we also have tried puffs, yogurt bites and small pieces of apples, bananas and peaches). He pushed up into a sitting position from a crawling position for the first time. The first time he took a bath in the big bathtub (he was trying to climb out of his baby bathtub). His first big boy car seat. The first time he went to a birthday party. He also now weighs over 20 lbs (at his 8 mo appt he was 20 lbs 5 1/2 oz, 27 1/2 inches tall). He also got his second tooth in right before Thanksgiving so now he has both bottom teeth. Also some not so fun firsts, like his first illness. He was sick with a virus for a couple weeks that turned into bronchiolitis. It was heartbreaking to hear that little cough. Thankfully he is all better now. There have been so many firsts it is hard to remember them all but here are a few pictures to help you see what we've been up to.
