Crazy weather!

So I forgot to share some of the crazy weather we've had lately in my last post. In the last couple weeks, we've had thunderstorms almost daily and a tornado was spotted about a mile from here, where there was golfball size hail. We just got a little rain that day thankfully but it was shocking to realize it was so close! A tornado actually touched down about 15 min from here and did some pretty good damage to a mall but thankfully everyone was ok. Several other tornados have been spotted around the Denver area. I think the crazy weather has past though, it's been sunny the last couple days. Just goes to show you can never predict Colorado weather! And a Happy Father's Day to Ben! He wanted to sleep in and relax, so that's what we did. Liam and I went to the farmer's market this morning to let him sleep a little later. We also got him a little card that Liam "signed" himself. Hope all the other dads out there have a wonderful day! Here are a couple pics.

The tornado spotted about a mile from here, right in Highlands Ranch!
The same area, got some very large hailA cloud with rotation spotted nearby another day
One day a funnel was spotted near the Rockies game! The game was suspended for a 1/2 hour.
Another funnel spotted near downtown.

Learning New Things

Liam's been busy learning new things. He's learned how to shake his head (although I am not sure he fully realizes what it means but I think he does at least a little. Yesterday he wouldn't nap so I finally just got him up and asked him, you just aren't going to nap, are you? And of course, he shook his head. :o)). He's also learned how to point and can point out nose, mouth, eyes, ears, etc.). He's gotten very interested in lights and can flip the switch to turn them on and off (and it's now one of his favorite things to do). He likes to put things in and out of something like a cup or a box (also one of his new favorite things to do). It was really funny at the park, they have like these wood chips in the swing set area that get spread all over and when we went yesterday, he systematically crawled along the sidewalk and would pick them up one and a time and put them back in the swing set area. It was even funnier because he then went over the slide and proceeded to pick up handfuls of the wood chips and put them on the slide. He's learned a few new sounds, like he will says "shhhh" when he turns the switch on and off. When Ben does it with him, he says switch every time, so we think he's saying "switch." He also says da for dog and we finally figured out that nana is not banana but either night-night or his blankie or maybe both. He also "sings," basically he says lalala but it's pretty cute. He's still not quite walking but he stands really good on his own now and will kind of rock back and forth sometimes like he's thinking about moving but isn't quite sure about it. We finally got his sand and water table he got for his birthday up, and he loves it. At first he wasn't sure and discovered that sand does not taste good but then realized it's a lot of fun. We've also been busy with the usual park, playdates, swimming, etc. Here are some pictures of what we've been up to.
