Our new home!

So we are FINALLY all in the same time zone again and it is so nice. Liam definitely missed dada. Thanks to our friends we got all our stuff packed and loaded and got daddy on his way. Then we got to spend one last weekend in Colorado before catching our flight to Philly. It was a little rough but Liam did great even on our almost four hour flight that was completely full so he had to sit on my lap. Fortunately our neighbors were considerate and the flight wasn't very bumpy, we even got here a little early. The poor man who sat next to us wound up sharing his snack and his Iphone with Liam, having his arm hair and beard pulled, and helping him turn on and off the light, but Liam rewarded his kindness but not screaming for the majority of the flight except toward the end when he really just wanted to walk around but was thankfully distracted by said Iphone. The only casualty was a lost sock so I'll count that as a success! Even after all that traveling, Liam was so excited to arrive that he didn't go to sleep until after we got home (at our flight got in at 11pm). Since we got in so late, we didn't get to explore but first thing the next morning he couldn't wait to go explore his new yard. He is loving it! And so are the doggies. We have even seen a deer and its baby in our very own yard. There are some adjustments, our new place is smaller so it's a challenge finding a place for everything but I think the outdoor space makes it worth it. It's like living in the forest, you can hear the crickets and the trees and everything. There are definitely more spiders and insects here, we found a huge spider in the house one morning, ewww! Otherwise, Pennsylvania is beautiful but it can be a little confusing to get around but I'm sure it will become more familiar soon. It is fun to live near the Delaware border, I've already been down there a few times, there's no sales tax there! Sadly, Liam's ball pit was a casualty of the move, apparently losing elevation from about 5000 feet to sea level, all the balls deflated. Boo! Once we get settled, maybe we'll try to replace them, or at least for when it gets too cold and snowy to play outside. He's pretty well distracted from the loss at the moment. :o) Here are some pictures of our new place. Also see the post below for more of an update and pictures of what else we have been up to.

If you look closely you can see Sydney running in the grass

First a much needed update!

It has been way too long since I have updated the blog, sorry I will try to do better in the future. I know you are all excited to see pictures of our new place, but so much has happened since I last was on here, I think I am going to have to split it into two updates! So here is what we have been up to while we were still in Colorado. We spent as much time with friends as we could, got our house on the market, packed, etc. We went to the children's museum, the wildlife experience, the park. Liam also turned 18 mos and had one last check up with our favorite pediatrician. Liam is now 32 inches tall and weighed in at 24 lbs 8 1/2 oz. He is getting to be such a big boy! He can walk really fast now, pretty much a dead run. He no longer is happy riding in the cart when we go out so I'm trying to teach him the importance of staying by mommy! He says some new words like baba, uh oh, 'lo (hello). He will pick up any object that resembles a phone (a camera, a remote, etc) and say 'lo and then have a "conversation." Some of his other favorite things to do are play outside, play with water, slides, hugs (he gives great big ones even to the doggies, who do not totally appreciate the gesture) and shutting the door so mama "can't" get out. His favorite books these days are any that are interactive in some way--textures to touch, flaps to open, buttons to push. He is still obsessed with all things electronic and how things work. He was a pretty good helper to mommy while we were on our own. But you could tell he missed daddy, he started going up to any daddy type man anywhere we were and tried to get some attention (fortunately, these were mostly friends who were happy to oblige :o)). We were very thankful for all our friends help while we were getting ready to move and we will miss them a ton! Here are some pictures.

The Wildlife Experience

Hanging out with his birthday buddy Lily
Mama's friend Katharine, Lily, Liam and Mama
Liam outside the Denver children's museum
Playing with his buddy Gavin in the museum's play area
Checking himself out in the mirror
Having so much fun!
Going through the tunnel
"Sailing" in a boat
Teaching him early how to do laundry, lol
Silly boy sitting on the table
Playing with some trains
The best picture we could get of Gavin and Liam together at the playground outside the museum, they were ready to play!
Look at mama's little helper!

He just wanted to sit at the top of the slide
But he got there all by himself and it was tall!Thumb's up, cool dude!
He loves playing with water almost as much as he loves mommy!
And it's handy if you get thirsty
Going down the slide
Having so much fun at the parkWho me?
Playgroup all hanging out by the slide
Don't touch his cookie!
Poor baby he's locked outside! (or in his world, mama's locked in)
He seems so miserable doesn't he?
Look! He can play with his breakfast!
Quinn, Greg and Ethan are in on the action too

But of course, we drove all the way down to the bacon and eggs play area in Cherry Creek and what was Liam's favorite part? Quinn's blue car, just like the red one Liam has at home!
Riding in the car with Garfield as we were leaving Walmart! Liam's holding some tylenol we came to get for a little cold he had and let him ride to help cheer him up. It worked until we had to leave, too bad we couldn't have brought it home with us.
Swimming fun!

Swimming with his other birthday buddy Ariana
Then Liam gave her a hug, so sweet!
One last check up with our favorite pediatrician
One last trip to our favorite park to take pictures, Sterne Park for his 18 month birthday

This was Liam at the same park at 12 mos
