As far as the holiday festivities, Liam wasn't too sure about the parade (probably not helped by the fact that they kept honking horns and being loud as well as the fact that mama woke him up early on a Saturday morning to go) but the parade did include some horsies and doggies and he loved those. It was just our little town parade so it was short and sweet, probably a good thing considering a toddler's attention span. After that it was definitely naptime but later around dinnertime we stopped by a friend's bbq where Liam chowed down on some watermelon and then went to check out the fireworks. I was worried Liam might be scared but not this little boy! He loved them, in fact, it was the first time he said more. I should have known, he loves lights and so of course he'd love big, bright, sparkly ones in many colors! His enthusiasm didn't last through the whole show but he spent the rest of the time happily playing in the grass. All in all, a much more fun holiday than last year (which he slept through most of :o)).
Hmm...anything else new? Let's see...he finally learned how to sign all done (I've been trying that one since he was about 5 mos old). He's also learned how to shut a door, oh joy. We got him some leggos and a little table to play with them on. He loves them even though he mostly takes them out, puts them on the table, puts them away, repeat. Hasn't quite gotten the building concept down yet. He's learned how to unscrew things, we no longer have doorstops and he can get water bottles open, fun fun. He's learned how to throw a ball (giving Daddy visions of playing baseball or at least catch). He's been throwing balls out of his ball pit and to the floor below. He learned how to blow kisses which is so cute. All his turning into a crazy toddler but he's also a lot of fun. I wonder what he'll learn next.
