Liam's first road trip!

So even though we should have been unpacking, we took a break to go on a road trip! We went up to the Boston/southern New Hampshire area. On the way, we drove through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut and Massachusetts. We even saw Maine! We wanted to go up and see it too, we were so close but Liam was starting to lose so we decided to call it a day and save that for another trip. It was a long drive but fun to see some of the East Coast since we have never been over here before. New Jersey (at least the part we drove through, I'm sure there's nicer parts) was smelly, NYC is just massive, Connecticut is pretty but nothing too exciting, Boston is bigger than I expected but the suburbs are gorgeous and New Hampshire is mostly older small towns but the coast is so pretty. We fell in love with one neighborhood outside Boston, with big yards and big trees, who knows, maybe we'll wind up there someday. Liam was a trooper but you could tell he was getting tired of his car seat. We stopped in Boston and had some clam chowder, yummy! We accidentally wound up on the wrong road and wound up in an underwater tunnel across the bay, scared me to death. It wasn't that bad it's just creepy knowing you under the bay. So other than our road trip fun, we're just been having some fun at home and places like the library, the park and playgroup. I think Liam has had a growth spurt but I don't know for sure. He just seems so big all of a sudden. He is getting a lot quicker too. He tries to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Old McDonald. The "Up Above the World So High" and "E-i-e-i-o" are the easiest parts to understand (although still not quite accurate). He likes to sing them over and over. He is liking to draw more and is getting more into cars and trains. He is still obsessed with lights and phones. I can't believe it's November already! Where has the time gone?

Our road trip
Poor Liam spent most of the weekend like this.
But we did get out and let him play when we saw a playground at the Portsmouth NH shore
Liam wanted to show you some of the other things we sawThe leaves changing color around BostonAnd the Portsmouth NH coast
Here's some of the other things we've been up to

Playing outside
Obsessed with lights as alwaysStomping on the leavesIs it just me or does it look like he's trying to push the tree over?He got a cozy coupe that looks like a fire truck! It even makes siren noises. He raced out first thing to play with it. I guess it wasn't going fast enough the other way so he got out to pushUncle James and Aunt Sherri got him this for his first bday but mean old mommy had put it away until now, and he's LOVING it!
We did take a trip to the nearby Longwood Gardens, they have a cool train garden
And an indoor garden with fun stuff for kiddos
Like water to play in...one of his favorite things!
Looks like he's having fun, doesn't it?We made a little trip to our local library
And there's a park right next door!First we checked out the slideThen he spotted some fun steps to climbHe went even higher than this! And all in his first pair of big boy sneakers! He wanted to go outside, but it was raining. So we bundled him up to see whether or not he'd like it. Of course he LOVED it! It's two of his favorite things...playing outside and playing with water.

Great pics! Liam does look like he's grown! He looks like he's got thicker hair now (although the blonde is still hard to see) but it makes him look like a boy....no more baby! Great pics =) I really enjoyed them!
